Evaluation Question 7…

7 .Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Over the duration of the course I have developed my skills in using media and technology, through editing, researching and experimenting. At the start of the year I had never used a mac and initially struggled. However I adapted to using them and have gained a lot of confidence since. To which I have used profession software such as premier and aftereffects to try to make my final product as good as possible.

Evaluation question 4…

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

Firstly I researched what age rating most action adventure films are for a similar style of plot. I found that nearly every film consisting of such a story was at lest 12+, reasonable with the disturbing content and the possible sense of vulnerability to the among the audience.

I then did more specific research with a target audience survey. I uploaded this onto my Facebook page, giving me a wide range of age groups and a variety between the two genders answering from 12year olds up to the retiring age. I found from this survey that my film choice would be specifically aimed at teenagers to get the best result among my audience. I have also enforced this idea, through using my main (known) character as a teen aged girl. This induced emotion between the target audience as it is in a way relatable in the present day, and the increasing sense of teen girls being vulnerable.

After doing this target audience survey i specifically interviewed a person who was with in my target audience about the genre of film and the ideas introduced through out my media product. I interviewed Belle Jegard, who watches action and adventure films regularly.

Belle is 15 years old and likes Action and Adventure films because “they are emotive and draw the audience in through out the film” this is due to the consistency and build up through out, Belle thinks that “A build up in suspense is vital to allow the audience to gather emotions and ideas on the characters” She finds action genre films allow the audience to connect and engage with the film and relating to the circumstances, thus giving emotion and sensitivity towards the characters especially in tense moments where on which the audience are “sat on the edge of their seats” in assessment of the situation which can go different ways creating a tense atmosphere to connect with the audience through their expectations. Belle emphasises her enjoyment for action adventure films through the “thrill” and “suspense” issues throughout the whole film.

Overall through the use of a target audience survey and a more specific interview I have decided that the most suitable audience for my genre film but also the right age group to understand the issues raised within the film would be teenager ranging from about 14 to 18. This is however very specific and my media product can also be used for older people as they have experienced the age of which the film actors are. However i wanted to focus y film on an age group in which I myself and familiar with in the current day.

3rd Draft

Having evaluated my 2nd draft i decided to change some on the editing on my second draft but i have also changed the title as it came across as to humorous for the genre of film. The shots are all roughly the same however in a slightly different order and some shots which i found to repetative have been removed from my media product.
